# Events List

The **Events List** is the primary interface for exploring the events through your Kloudfuse platform.

Follow these steps to get to the **Events List** interface:

1. Click the **Events** tab, and then the **List** option in the drop-down menu.

2. The **List** interface appears.

## Using the Events List interface

The **Events List** interface has the following information and affordances:

01. **[Filters](https://docs.kloudfuse.com/platform/3.5.0/events-filters/)** help you to determine what requires your immediate attention. For details, see [Event Filters](https://docs.kloudfuse.com/platform/3.5.0/events-filters/).

To show filters, expand the filters: click the  (Show filters) icon in the top left corner of the page.

To hide the filters, click the  (Hide filters) icon in the top right corner of the filter panel.

02. The **Search Events** searchbar enables you to find events by any attribute value.

03. **Overall interval**. The default is **Last 12 hours**. Click the drop-down to use the time picker and select the appropriate time interval.

04. **Refresh display**: click  (Refresh) to update the display.

05. **View type** selector enables you to specify the search view by selecting one of the following modes:

06. **Chart** that represents the event count over the specified duration.

07. The  (Options) menu controls how to display the table.

Use the **Options** drop-down to add and remove columns in the table display.

The default table columns are **Date**, **Relative Time**, **Source**, **Event ID**, **Aggregation Key**, **Level**, **Event Type**, **Title**, and **Message Body**.

Use the **Lines to show** selector to specify how many content lines to display for each event message.

08. Add the events list to dashboards; click **Add to Dashboards**; see [Add to Dashboard](https://docs.kloudfuse.com/platform/3.5.0/events-list/#dashboard)

   |  | This feature is only available in the Kloudfuse UI. If you are using the embedded Grafana pages, you cannot add new panels to dashboards. |

09. **Download** the Event List table as a CSV or a JSON file.

10. The **List** of all events that match the filter and duration criteria.

11. Click the row that you plan to examine. The **Detail view** of the event appears on the screen. See [Filter and Search Events](https://docs.kloudfuse.com/platform/3.5.0/events-list/#filter-search).

## Add to Dashboard

   |  | The **Add to Dashboard** affordance is part of the Kloudfuse Events UI pages. If you are using the embedded Grafana pages, you cannot add new panels to dashboards.<br>Also, Grafana does not show the data for the panels that you previously added using the Kloudfuse UI. |

To add the current results to a dashboard, follow these steps:

1. In the interface, click the  (Add to Dashboard) button.

2. The **Add panel to dashboard** dialog appears.

3. In the dialog, specify if you want to add to a **[New Dashboard](https://docs.kloudfuse.com/platform/3.5.0/events-list/#new)** (default), or an **[Existing Dashboard](https://docs.kloudfuse.com/platform/3.5.0/events-list/#existing)**:

- New Dashboard
   - Existing Dashboard

1. Select the folder from the drop-down.
2. Enter the name of the new dashboard.
3. Enter the panel name for the new chart.

1. Select the folder from the drop-down.
2. Select the dashboard from the drop-down.
3. Enter the panel name for the new chart.

## Filter and Search Events

The **Event detail** screen provides a more comprehensive view into each tracked event.

Event Detail

The sections are **Message** (for the full text of the message body), and **Facets**, **Kubernetes Labels**, **Cloud Labels**, and **Additional Labels**. You can search across **Facets** and **Labels**, and use their values as filters.

### Search on Facets or Labels

Use the search to find the facets (or labels) that match your requirements. Kloudfuse finds the match.

For example, you can search for the term `alert`, which returns the `alert_type=warning` facet.

### Filter on Facets

Click facet value in the list of facets, and chose whether to **Filter By** the facet, **Exclude** the facet, or **Copy** the facet value to use elsewhere in your analysis.

#### Filter By

When you perform the filtering step, the value in the **Filters** menu changes, Kloudfuse adds the filter to the main search bar as a tile, and generates a graph with that filter enabled.

In the following example, we filtered on facet `alert_type=warning`, and the Events list shows only the events that include that facet and value.

#### Exclude

To exclude a facet from the search, choose **Exclude** from the drop-down menu. In the next example, we exclude the facet `alert_type=warning`, and the Events list shows only the events that don’t have that facet and value.

#### Copy

Choose the **Copy** option, and Kloudfuse adds the value of the facet to your clipboard. Continuing with previous examples, if you copy `alert_type=warning`, the clipboard contains the value `warning`.

### Filter Labels

Click on one of the labels, and choose to **Filter by** all matching results, to **Exclude** that filter from the results, or to **Copy** the value of the filter.

### Filter Source

Similarly, click on the source name at the top of the **Event Detail** to filter on that value: to **Filter by** all the source, to **Exclude** the source from the results, or to **Copy** the value of the source filter.
